Radials Signature Build-Quality With Radials instantly-recognizable book-end design crafted from 14-gauge steel the EXTC-SA boasts incredible durability with an intelligent I-beam enclosure. The devices unique housing doesnt just offer unparalleled strength against the demanding conditions of daily studio and road use it also provides exceptional shielding from electromagnetic interference. The thick steel shell absorbs/reflects electromagnetic energy keeping it at bay and preventing conflict with your signal for a clean and transparent sound. The enclosure also features internal welding this keeps the military-spec PCB safe along with all of the premium-grade components. This dedication to creating high-performance devices with outstanding strength and reliability is why so many Radial products have found their home in studios and on stages all over the world. Intelligent Circuitry For Optimized Signal Flow The EXTC-SA has been crafted from the ground up to deliver a device that offers incredible creativity and fun in a compact and powerful format. As such the device is equipped with an isolation transformer to eliminate the buzz and hum that would occur if you tried to achieve the same results by using a mixer for example. Once the signal is processed via this transformer the signal has to then be re-amplified and balanced. The EXTC-SA will automatically do this… It starts by unbalancing the signal and setting the overall level ensuring that it is within the normal operating requirements for pedals. After that it presents the appropriate impedance so that all of your effects retain their natural sound and characteristics. This enables high-performance interfacing with pro-level audio equipment such as recording interfaces and mixers without any nasty noise or incompatibility issues. Reviews “The EXTC-SA is a clear choice if you want to simplify the often complicated task of Reamping with effects.” – ProAudio Review. Features Unique interface for connecting guitar pedals to the inputs and outputs of pro audio equipment Perfect for use with gear such as recording interfaces or mixing consoles Lets you utilise your pedals in new and creative ways Separate send and receive controls for an optimized signal path Transformer isolation helps eliminate the hum and buzz caused by ground loops Automatically sets the level and impedance for your signal flow Works with any device that utilises 1/4 instrument levels including things such as old tape echoes 180° polarity reverse switch allows you to set the signal polarity so that both the dry and wet signals are in phase You could even leave the signals out of phase to create some potentially odd but unique effects No rules – if you want to overload your pedals to create unique distorted tones you can do that with ease without harming the effects Wet/dry blend control gives you the opportunity to utilise a completely dry signal all the way up to 100 percent wet and anywhere in between Designed to work in mono meaning two EXTC-SA boxes are required if you wish to use the device for stereo applications Separate send and receive 1/4 jacks for connecting your pedals to the device Balanced XLR input as well as a balanced XLR output that can be used for cable runs of up to 300 metres without noise 100 percent discrete class-A buffers ensure optimal signal flow and a natural tone Double-sided military-spec PCB with full ground plane for noise-free performance Specifications Audio Circuit Type: Solid state with transformer-coupled effects loop Frequency Response: (-8dB at 20kHz) Dry: 20Hz – 20kHz (+/-1.5dB) Wet: 20Hz – 10kHz (+/-3.5dB) Total Harmonic Distortion: Dry: >0.005 percent 0dB output Wet: >0.002 percent 0dB output Intermodulation Distortion: Dry: >0.003 percent 0dBu input Wet: <0.02 percent 0dBu input Input Impedance: Line level – 15k Ohms Output Impedance: Line level – 200 Ohms Noise: Dry: -93dB Wet: -84dB Maximum Input: Dry: +26dBu Wet: +20dBu Input Connectors: Unbalanced 1/4 Balanced XLR Output Connectors: Unbalanced 1/4 Balanced XLR Conditions: For use in dry locations only between 5°C and 40°C

About Radial
Even with advanced Radial manufacturing techniques, it isn’t possible to automate the production of great instruments like this Radial EXTC-SA Guitar Effects Interface and Reamp Box. The complexity of the task, combined with the need for constant awareness of the materials being used and the ability to adjust for minute variations, means that there is no substitute for the skill and sensitivity of experienced craftspeople.
Turning designs into great instruments isn’t easy. Technical drawings can’t convey the intended tone of an instrument, or the construction methodology required to create the desired characteristics and sound. Before building a new guitar can begin, the plans and intentions of the designers are discussed with the craftspeople at the factory in order to develop an appropriate production process. Every guitar is different, and coming up with the ideal production methodology and workflow for each guitar is critical.
